La notizia è stata riportata dal sito olandese PS3-Sense.

Ora, pare che questo, sia stato un successo, e che la PS3 sia stata davvero hackata al 100%. Almeno, è quanto Geohot ha sostenuto, con un messaggio lasciato sulla sua pagina Twitter.

 

“Today I validated my theories about running the isolated SPUs on the PS3 as crypto engines. The PS3 is 100% hacked. So where my homebrew at?â€

 

["Oggi ho convalidato la mia teoria su come eseguire le SPU isolate sulla PS3 come motori di crittografia. La PS3 è hackata al 100%. Dunque, dov'è il mio homebrew?

 

Ciò, significa che vedremo presto qualche homebrew su PS3? O copie (illegali) di giochi?

ogni volta che si hanno certe notizie subito ci mettiamo di mezzo la pirateria, per come la vedo io geohot parla un po troppo in grande mmmh staremo a vedere...

On the Isolated SPUs

Today I verified my theories about running the isolated SPUs as crypto engines. I believe that defeats the last technical argument against the PS3 being hacked.

 

In OtherOS, all 7 SPUs are idle. You can command an SPU(which I'll leave as an exercise to the reader) to load metldr, from that load the loader of your choice, and from that decrypt what you choose, everything from pkgs to selfs. Including those from future versions.

 

The PPU is higher on the control chain then the SPUs. Even if checks were to be added to, for example, verify the hypervisor before decrypting the kernel, with clever memory mappings you can hide your modified hypervisor.

 

Ah, but you still didn't get the Cell root key. And I/we never will. But it doesn't matter. For example, we don't have either the iPhone or PSP "root key". But I don't think anyone doubts the hackedness of those systems.

 

I wonder if any systems out there are actually secure?

 

come ho capito dice che e riuscito a modificare la ps3 e che non e riuscito a trovare la chiave principale ma non importa perche neanche sull'iphone o psps e stata trovata ma speriamo

ancora non hanno fatto girare neanche un hello word' date=' è mooolto presto per un usbloader [/quote']guarda che attraverso questo homebrew si potra sfruttare al 100 % l'hardwere ps3 attraverso l'otheros altro che usb loader si potra usare la ps3 come un compiuter potentissimo (anke se prima si poteva fare ma non si aveva accesso alla wifi e al bluetooth scheda grafica 0 niente praticamente con questo expolit potremo usare tutto persino far girare giochi per pc sulla ps3 )

se uscirà  una modifica per le fat, stai sicura che in qualche modo trovano il modo di modificare anche la slim, anche perchè niente è perfetto e invulnerabile

a me non interessa, tanto alla fine i giochi basta comprarli usati o inportati e si trovano anche a poco
